Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access Kicks Off For iOS And Android

Elder Scrolls fans who have been waiting for the mobile game in the franchise, Elder Scrolls: Blades, to land will be glad to hear that the game has now entered Early Access. Bethesda confirmed the game Early Access status via a tweet from the official The Elder Scrolls Twitter account. To get into the Early Access portion of the game requires an official invite from Bethesda.

Early Access is available on both iOS and Android platforms; those who signed up for Early Access are being chosen in a seemingly random manner. Invites come via the email address used to register for access. Bethesda has stated that all progress or purchases made in the Early Access stage will carry over to the final game when it launches.

People can still sign up for Early Access in hopes of being chosen. The Elder Scrolls: Blades was announced at the E3 2018 press conference and was initially expected to land in 2018, but that launch never happened. When November 2018 rolled around, the game was delayed until "early 2019."

Blades allows users to create and customize a character, accept quests, rebuild your city, and seek out clues to solve an ancient mystery. Players are being invited to Early Access on a rolling basis, Bethesda says to keep checking your email. The game is offered in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Russian. One of the coolest things about Early Access is that there is no NDA, players can share all the screenshots from the game they want. A list of supported smartphones can be found in the FAQ. There is still no indication of when the final version of the game will launch. It's also unclear what caused the game to be delayed to begin with.

This week Bethesda started to offer a free copy of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
