Epic's Fortnite Season 10 Teaser Cranks Up Dusty Divot Nostalgia For Battle Royale Fans

Fortnite Season 10
When one door closes, another one opens, and sometimes it will transport you back in time. That is how the saying goes, right? In any event, the Fortnite World Cup came to a close on Sunday (after a wild weekend of gameplay!), and at the end of the event, Epic Games teased the launch of Season 10, which looks to bring players back to Dusty Divot.

If you have been playing Fortnite for at least a year, then you probably have fond memories of Dusty Divot. It was a fan favorite, "was" being the operative word there. That is because Dusty Divot was obliterated in Season 4, a casualty of a pesky meteor that struck the map last year. Now apparently it is coming back, lest Epic Game's teaser is a cruel joke.

Epic Games posted a Season 10 image on Twitter, which you can see at the top of this article. There has been quite a bit of build up for the upcoming season, including a showdown between a giant pink robot and an equally large monster somewhat reminiscent of Godzilla. That battle ended with the robot plunging a sword through monster's head, and then zooming off into outer space.

Subsequent to the epic fight, and energizing orb has been hovering over Loot Lake, destabilizing and changing over time. Several theories have ensued. One of them is that the orb is set to explode, destroying the entire map in the process, or at least part of it. How or why that would give rise to Dusty Divot remains to be seen, if in fact that is what the orb is destined to do.

Will an explosion bring back multiple locations from the past, and not just Dusty Divot? That is certainly a possibility. Whatever is going to happen, however, it will take place soon—Season 10 is set to launch in just a few days, on Thursday, August 1.
