EVGA Unleashes Epic Single-Slot GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Kingpin Hydro Copper
The graphics card is guaranteed to overclock to at least 2,025MHz, which matches the specs of the air-cooled version of the card that launched earlier in 2017. Although 2,025GHz is guaranteed, base and boost clocks are pegged at a more sedate 1,582MHz and 1,695MHz respectively.
What makes the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Hydro Copper so special, however, is the fact that it is a single-slot solution that manages to squeeze in 9 thermal sensors, voltage measurement points, dual 8-pin power connectors (side-mounted), 10+3 power phase and a full cover backplate. And despite its low-profile design, EVGA still crams in three mini DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0 and DVI connectors.
Given all of the custom engineering that went into the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Hydro Copper, you might expect that it would be astronomically-priced -- and you'd be correct. While EVGA's air-cooled version of the card can be had for $999, the single-slot water-cooled version rings in at a dizzying $1,250 (it's available for pre-order right now direct from EVGA).
To put that in perspective, the tricked-out NVIDIA Star Wars TITAN Xp Collector's Edition (in either Jedi Order or Rebel Alliance configs) is available for "only" $1,200. However, if you're looking for an ultra high performance single-slot gaming solution, it appears that EVGA is the only game in town at this point.
