Fallout 76 Gets A Release Date And Lots Of Details On Various Versions Of The Game

One of the coolest games that was announced at E3 2018 was the forthcoming Bethesda title Fallout 76. When the game was first teased we didn’t have much to go on, but we were excited. We later learned that it would be an online only game set in West Virginia. One of the big missing bits of information on the game, however, was exactly when it would launch.

That has now been confirmed with a launch date of November 14, 2018; just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US, when you can catch that Tryptophan buzz and chill with the fam and a little gaming goodness. We know that base building will be a big part of the game and that players will be able to hunt down items that allow them to fire nuclear missiles at areas of the map. Bethesda has also promised that the game will be four times larger than Fallout 4, which had an impressively large play arena of its own.

Bethesda has dropped tidbits on what sort of pre-order bonuses will be featured and that there will be a pre-launch beta of the game as well. Getting in on that pre-launch beta is the key reason to pre-order, as it is the only way to get in on the beta. There is no firm date for the launch for the beta, but we know it will be on the Xbox One first. The game itself will be offered on Xbox, PC, and PS4 platforms. Details on the different editions of the game are also now official, with the standard edition selling for $60 and including the base edition of the game alone. A Tricentennial Edition of the game will cost $80 and gives games the base version of the game along with in-game bonus items. The bonus items include:

  • Tricentennial Power Armor Customization for the T-51, T-45, T-60, and X-01 Power Armors
  • Tricentennial Weapon Customization for the 10MM Pistol, Hatchet, and Laser Rifle
  • Spectacularly Handsome Vault Boy Mascot Head
  • Patriotic Uncle Sam Outfit
  • Celebratory Vault Boy Saluting Emote
  • First-Class Tricentennial Workshop Posters
  • Tricentennial Commemorative Photo Frame

A map of the Fallout 76 world is included that is 21" x 21" and glows in the dark. This edition also gets the gamer 24 figurines that are based on in-game models of creatures and vault dwellers, steelbook, and the same in-game items in the Tricentennial Edition.
