Final Fantasy XV 4K Leaked Benchmarks Show GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Crushing Titan Xp
At this point, there is a lot of information out there about NVIDIA's next-generation GeForce RTX graphics cards, including details on pricing and availability, and a deep dive into the underlying Turing architecture. All that is really left to know is what kind of performance the new cards will deliver. Reviewers are under embargo at the moment, though a set of leaked results for Final Fantasy XV provide a glimpse of how the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti compares to previous generation cards.
What makes this leak data somewhat unique is that the results appear in Square Enix's official Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition database, rather than some random website or web forum. That doesn't mean there isn't any room for funny business, but as far as leaks go, this one appears more reliable than most.

Jumping straight to the 4K benchmark results, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti leads the back at the Standard Quality setting. it shows a score of 6,379, just ahead of the Volta-based Titan V at 6,302, and well ahead of the Titan Xp (Pascal) at 5,376. It's also scored more than a 1,000 points higher than the previous generation GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, which sits at 5,257.

The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti creates a bit more separation when cranking up the settings to the High Quality preset. When doing so, it races ahead of the Titan V, scoring 5,842 versus 5,282. The Titan Xp and GeForce GTX 1080 Ti both trail far behind at 4,907 and 4,442, respectively.
We don't want to over-analyze the results, especially since this is a single benchmark rather than a mix of games and synthetic tests. That said, how you view the performance will depend on what your expectations are for the new generation of cards. Running at 4K is demanding on hardware, and from our vantage point, this is a good bump in top-end performance. We also recognize that there will be people who are expecting a bigger gap, given that Pascal has been on the market for two years. So, take from these results what you will.
To quickly recap the specs, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is fastest of the new Turing cards. It has 4,352 CUDA cores and features a 1,350MHz base clock and either a 1,545MHz (reference) or 1,635MHz (overclocked for the Founders Edition) boost clock. The card also boasts 11GB of GDDR6 memory, a 352-bit memory interface, and dedicated RT and Tensor cores for real-time ray tracing and other effects.
