Fortnite Season 10 Brings 2-Person Mechs, Return Of Dusty Divot, And New Rift Zones
The mechs can be controlled by just one player, but perform the best when two players are at the controls. One player controls the movements of the B.R.U.T.E. while the other handles the massive firepower (shotguns and missiles) for bringing down terror on opponents. Be sure to check out the Overview Trailer below where you can see a B.R.U.T.E. stomping a player to death, which is quite satisfying.
There are also new Rift Zones, which are a result of the Zero Point Explosion that appeared in the trailers leading up to the release of Season 10. "Locations once thought to be lost are beginning to appear, but they aren’t the same as they once were," writes Epic. One such example is Dusty Divot, which was alluded to earlier this week by Epic. The landmark was wiped off the map in Season 4, but has reappeared in Season 10... floating in the air.
With the launch of a new season comes a new Battle Pass. There are 100 levels in addition to over 100 new rewards to obtain. Epic has also announced the ability to gift a Battle Pass to a friend (which is a nice added bonus… at least until the feature expires on August 15th). There are also new items like the Advanced Storm Controller, which allows you to replicate the wave storm or create your own multi-phase storm.
Season 10 kicks off following the heavily watched and promoted Fortnite World Cup, where there was a massive $30 million prize pool up for grabs. One of the more impressive showings was from the 16-year-old solo champ, Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf, who scored a cool $3 million in winnings.
