Fortnite Season X Brings The Mayhem With Borderlands 3 Crossover Event

Fortnite Season X Claptrap
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) might be in a bit of disarray with Spider-Man's departure, but for fans of Fortnite, there is another crossover to keep an eye on. Epic Games is bringing a bit of Borderlands flair to its wildly popular Fortnite game, as part of its v10.20 update, otherwise known as Season X Mayhem.

"Bring on the Mayhem. Cross the border into crazy and check out a Rift Zone based on Pandora. This collab also includes themed Challenges with free rewards, Psycho and Claptrap cosmetics, and more," Epic Games explains.

Players can grab the Pscyho Bundle from the shop and then travel around with Claptrap on their backs. There is a new Pandora Rift Zone on the map. It brings Bordland's iconic look to the game, and if players "go long enough without taking damage," they will generate a Shield.

"There are some surprises for you to discover as you wreak havoc in Pandora," Epic Games teases.

Players can also create their own imagining of Pandora using new Prefabs in Fortnite Creative. There is a new camera filter, and of course the creation can then be shared on Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit. Players who do so by September 6 and use the hastag #ForniteXMayhem will have a chance to be featured on The Block.

There are other new things as well, including a Shield Bubble. This rare item lasts for 30 seconds (or until its 400 HP is depleted) and blocks projectiles and explosives. Players are able to run through it as well, to battle enemies.

The Borderlands crossover runs from now until September 10.
