Forza Horizon 3 Windows 10 Demo Now On Windows Store, Xbox One Demo Gains HDR

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Maybe you're a New England Patriots fan (like this editor), in which case your favorite football team is on a bye week. Well, Microsoft has your back—the Forza Horizon 3 demo for Windows 10 is finally available to download for free from the Windows Store, provided you have the requisite hardware to get behind the wheel.

The minimum system requirements call for an Intel Core i5-3570 processor clocked at 3.4GHz, 8GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti or AMD Radeon R7 250X graphics card with 2GB of memory, and Windows 10. Microsoft recommends bumping up to an Intel Core i7-3870 CPU clocked at 3.6GHz paired with a GeForce GTX 970 or GTX 1060 if running with NVIDIA, or a Radeon R9 290X or RX 480 if going with AMD.

Forza Horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3 lets you explore a massive open world set in Australia. You can drive through the desert and rocky canyons of the Outback or through lush rain forests, to name some of what awaits.

"In Forza Horizon 3, you’re the boss of the Horizon Festival—the biggest and best cars and music festival in the world. Your goal is to expand the festival to new locations throughout Australia and you’ll get your first taste of what that experience is like in the demo. Along the way, you’ll be able to explore a portion of Forza Horizon 3’s map, while taking a guided tour through some of the best features that the game has to offer," Microsoft explains.

In addition to launching a demo for Windows 10 players, Microsoft released an update for the Xbox One demo that adds High Dynamic Range (HDR) support. You'll need an Xbox One S and an HDR display to benefit from the update.
