Fujitsu Breathes 'Lifebook' into Utrabook Form Factor; Launches 13.3-inch, 14-inch Models

Fujitsu decided to kick off the summer with a pair of Lifebok Ultrabook devices: the 13.3-inch Lifebook UH572 for home consumers, and 14-inch LifeBook U772 designed for dudes and dudettes donning a business suit. Both models are powered by Intel's 3rd Generation Core processor line, otherwise known as Ivy Bridge.

The 14-inch model is distinguishable by its frameless WXGA HD Crystal View display with edge-to-edge viewing and support for an optional port replicator for easy docking/connecting with an external monitor, mouse, and/or keyboard, Fujitsu says. It has a 0.69-inch profile, 3.15-pounds of lean muscle, and up to 7 hours of battery life. Fujitsu says it's fully customizable with different memory, CPU options, and storage, including HDD + SSD cache combinations.

For the home consumer, the Lifebook UH572 Ultrabook comes powered by a Core i5 processor. It's slightly thicker at 0.71 inches and weighs a little more at 3.5 pounds; battery life is rated at nearly 6 hours.

Both models bring to the Ultrabook party Intel HD 4000 graphics, HD webcam, three USB ports, HDMI connectivity, SD card reader, and up 500MB of storage space, along with Windows 7 running the show. Pricing for the U772 starts at $1,150 and the UH572 starts at $1,000.
