Chinese Galaxy S10+ Listing Tips $1,500 Price For Flagship SKU

The era of crazy expensive smartphones is certainly upon us; iPhone models from last year along with Galaxy devices showed that smartphone makers believe consumers will spend over $1,000 on a new device. A new price leak out of China has surfaced that shows the price for the high-end Galaxy S10+ smartphone listed at 10,000 yuan, which is about $1,500.

Previous pricing leaks have hinted that the device will sell for right around that same price in multiple parts of the world. Perhaps just as troubling for fans of the Galaxy S10+ is that the model right below that 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage top-of-the-line model packing 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage won't be much cheaper at 9,000 yuan, or $1,330. Samsung will have other versions of the S10 series that will certainly cost less, however.

Last month a series of renders leaked of the entire Galaxy S10 line. Renders of the S10+ showed a device packing a 6.4-inch QHD+ screen and promising the highest screen-to-body ratio of any Samsung device so far. High-end S10 models are expected to use an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner in the screen and to have multiple cameras on the back. The chipset inside the S10+ devices is expected to be a Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 depending on the market. A previous leak tipped rumored specifications for most of the S10 line, which includes multiple models. We will know all of what Samsung is cooking up for the S10 line when the Samsung unveiling event happens this week.
