Garmin Announces New PNDs For Every Lifestyle & Budget

Garmin introduced new personal navigation devices designed to suit a variety of lifestyles and budgets. The nüvi 2200 and nüvi 2300 families feature multi-stop route planning, route previews, and nüRoute technology with trafficTrends and myTrends. In addition to these new models, the PND manufacturer also introduced the nüLink! 1695 which is designed to give users accurate, up-to-the-minute information via a number of connected features.

The nüvi 2200 series features a 3.5-inch touchscreen. It includes Garmin's ecoRoute fuel-efficient navigation to help you conserve fuel. The models in this family can remember the destinations you travel to most frequently and will use myTrends to predict where you're headed. The nüvi 2200 models also feature an enhanced pedestrian model that will assist with public transportation options using optional cityXplorer content which is available from www.garmin.com.

The nüvi 2300 models offer a larger, 4.3-inch widescreen display. Models within this family offer a number of high-end features such as Bluetooth connectivity for connecting to your cell phone and trafficTrends which can recommend routes based on historical data and recurring trends about traffic in a given area. Many of the new models in this family also come with free lifetime traffic alerts, denoted by the “LT” in the product name.

All of the new models within the 2200 series and 2300 series feature turn-by-turn directions with spoken street names.

Garmin's new nüLink! 1695 is a 5-inch touchscreen PND that provides drivers with online information from Garmin’s nüLink! service. With this service, you'll get links to online information like Google Local Search, traffic, weather, fuel prices, real-time flight status, and other location-relevant content in real-time. For even more information and service options, the nüLink! 1695 offers the nüLink! Store where you can buy premium services such as real-time advanced weather with Nexrad radar and severe weather alerts, and premium safety camera alerts.

The nüLink! 1695 uses nüRoute technology with trafficTrends and myTrends to help deliver the best possible route. The nüLink! 1695 also comes with lane assist with junction view to help you determine the proper lane for navigation.  Garmin's ecoRoute feature is also included to help you conserve fuel.

The nüLink! 1695 also has Bluetooth, enabling you to place and receive calls through the device. The U.S. version of the nüLink! 1695 will come with one year of free Garmin nüLink! services out-of-the-box. It's expected to sell for approximately $450.
