Gateway Debuts 11.6" LT3100 Netbook

Seriously Gateway, don't spill all of your surprises at once! For the third time in the past 24 hours, Gateway is introducing a new machine. This time, it's the company's first-ever 11.6" netbook, the LT3100. As netbooks continue to inch closer and closer to ultraportables, this 11.6" version weighs in at 3.14lbs. and arrives with an AMD Athlon CPU, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a full-size keyboard and an Ultrabright high-def (1366x768) widescreen display.

Specifically, you'll find an Athlon 64 L110 CPU, ATI's Radeon X1270 graphics, 2GB of DDR2 memory and up to 250GB of hard drive space. The six cell battery also promises up to five hours of life, but as we've learned, we'd expect real world performance to be somewhat lower. There's also an integrated webcam, built-in digital microphone, two stereo speakers, a glossy chassis (which is about one inch thick), three USB 2.0 sockets, Ethernet and VGA. The LT3100 is available to order now in various configurations starting at $399.99, with a sample build posted below.
