The GeForce RTX SUPER and Radeon RX 5700 family of graphics cards are right around the corner, which means that gamers will have a number of new graphics cards to choose from when building a new rig (or upgrading an existing one). Thankfully, we’re getting an early look at how performance is shaping up for two of these soon-to-be-launched graphics cards thanks to a benchmark leak.

The graphics cards in question are the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, while both cards were benchmarked in Final Fantasy XV at 2560x1440 resolution with the High quality preset. Before we get to the numbers, we have to realize that these are probably pre-release cards running beta drivers, and this is simply one benchmark.

However, they show the Radeon RX 5700 XT – which is supposed to be a close competitor for the GeForce RTX 2070 – putting up a score of 5473. Unfortunately for AMD, the GeForce RTX 2070 is sitting pretty with a score of 6676. The GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, on the other hand, manages a score of 7579, which is just over 13 percent higher than its predecessor and well ahead of the Radeon RX 5700 XT.

In addition to the aforementioned caveats, we don’t have numbers for the higher-clocked Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition which could tighten the gap a bit with the GeForce RTX 2070 and GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER. You can hit the FFXV results here if you'd like (scroll down to 1440p/High)

The Radeon RX 5700, Radeon RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition launch July 7th priced at $379, $449, and $449 respectively. The GeForce RTX SUPER family has a tentative launch date of July 9th according to an Amazon listing for EVGA-branded cards. EVGA’s GeForce RTX 2070 Super XC Gaming and GeForce RTX 2060 Super XC Ultra Gaming are allegedly priced at $599.99 and $499.99 respectively.
