Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Family Allegedly Leaks With GDDR5X And GDDR6 Variants
Gigabyte is known for blitzing product categories with a healthy assortment of options, and if a new entry to the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) is any indication, that trend will continue when NVIDIA announces its rumored GeForce RTX 2060. According to the leaked listing, Gigabyte will offer nearly 40 different models.
That sounds like a stretch, but it's actually plausible when you consider a couple of things. The first is that Gigabyte makes and sells graphics cards under both its own branding, and its Aorus brand for gamers and enthusiasts. So, there's that.
The second thing that puts this leak in the realm of possibility is it shows three different memory allotments available on the GeForce RTX 2060, including 6GB, 4GB, and 3GB. On top of that, the leaked list points to the use of both GDDR5X and GDDR6 memory.
NVIDIA did the same thing with its current generation GeForce GTX 1060, albeit over time. As it stands now, there are 6GB, 5GB, and 3GB models available, including both GDDR5 and GDDR5X variants for the 6GB memory allotment.
Part of what's interesting here is that the leaked list suggests that all of the new GeForce RTX 2060 models will be available from the get-go. As we would expect, these will be spread across Gigabyte's Aorus Xtreme, Gaming OC, WindForce 2X and 3X OC, and Mini ITX product categories, plus a few others.
None of this is official, of course. As such, we have no idea how any of these models will perform, if the list turns out to be real, or what kind of price points the GeForce RTX 2060 series will command. Hopefully we'll have answers to those questions soon.
