Gigabyte Hypes NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Rumors With Facebook Post

The first comes from none other than Gigabyte, which took to its Facebook page to post the following image:

Captioned with "Ti will get you too... eventually...", Gigabyte is obviously riffing off the insanely popular film "It", which is terrifying audiences across the globe. In the image, we see a killer clown, an image of an Aorus GeForce GTX graphics card, the "Ti" moniker, a wallet and a red balloon floating in the air with a $100 bill attached to it.

We don't want to get too speculative in nature here, but it could be that the $100 bill represents savings of some sort. Perhaps, cards based on the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti will be priced around $100 less than the more potent GeForce GTX 1080. It's possible, but we aren't going to hold our breaths on that one...

Interestingly enough, Gigabyte took down the post after its started making its way around the internet -- likely after getting a receiving a lashing from NVIDIA.

In other GeForce GTX 1070 Ti news, a post over at MyDrivers claims that the GPU will feature 2432 CUDA cores (compared to 2560 CUDA cores for the GeForce GTX 1080). The GPU is rumored to feature a base clock of 1607MHz and a boost clock of 1683MHz. And unlike the GeForce GTX 1080, which includes 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti will allegedly include "only" 8Gbps GDDR5 memory. The post also indicates that the card would launch around Halloween (which is keeping with the aforementioned post from Gigabyte) and suggests that the card will retail for around $430.

Whatever the case, all signs appear to be pointing towards an imminent launch of the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. If that is indeed the case, AMD's newly released Radeon RX Vega 56 will be NVIDIA's prime target. The Radeon RX Vega 56 largely surpassed the performance of the standard GeForce GTX 1070 in our testing, but a slightly cut-down GeForce GTX 1080 in the form of the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti could firmly tip the balance back in NVIDIA's favor.
