Google Fast Pair Tech Now Details Individual Earbud Battery Life In Android, Here Are Compatible Devices
Google's Fast Pair technology has been updated with an interesting new feature that users of connected Bluetooth devices will find useful. There are also a bunch of new products that are compatible with Fast Pair technology. Google is talking up some of the upcoming experiences for Fast Pair aimed at improving Bluetooth device management.
One of the updates is True Wireless Stereo (TWS) that is gaining momentum in the market. With TWS continuing to grow, Google wants to build-in system-wide support. TWS headsets with Fast Pair will gain the ability to broadcast individual battery information for the case and earbuds. That means that compatible devices will be able to show the charge level of each wireless earbud in a pair along with a charging case or the charge levels of a pair of synced speakers. The devices will be able to provide information, including case open and close battery notifications.
Find My Device will be supported on Fast Pair devices soon. Find My Device will make it easier for users to track down a lost headset or earbuds. Users will be able to view the location, time of last use, and unpair or ring the buds to locate them when they are in range.
Android Q will offer an enhanced Bluetooth device details page for Fast Pair devices. The enhanced page will centralize management and key settings along with providing links to Find my Device, Assistant settings if applicable, and other OEM-specified settings that link to the OEM companion app for the device. FastPair tech already has the ability to sync devices seamlessly across Android and Chromebook devices.
