Google Offers Partial Refund for Nexus 7 Orders Placed Prior to Price Drop

In the growing 7-inch tablet space, Google made its Nexus 7 device more competitive by knocking the 16GB model down to $199, effectively replacing the 8GB model, and introducing a 32GB version for $249. Storage upgrades are no minor deal, considering the Nexus 7 doesn't sport a microSD card slot, but it can also be a tough pill to swallow if you purchased a unit just prior to the price drop. Lucky for you, Google and Asus are both offering a bit of compensation.

Let's start with Google. If you purchased a 16GB Nexus 7 tablet within 15 days of the price drop, you qualify for Google's Price Protection plan. Put another way, if you bought the 16GB model on or after October 14, 2012, Google will refund the difference in price; all you have to do is fill out a form with your order number, item description, and purchase date.

Asus Nexus 7 Offer

For folks living in the U.K., Asus is also stepping up to the plate, albeit in the form a £25 coupon valid for purchases from its online store. Asus' offer doesn't appear to be tied to just the 16GB model, either. Full details can be found on Asus' website.
