Google's Pixel 4 XL Is Looking Good In These New, Ultra-Realistic Artist Renders

After Google’s official photo release of the Pixel 4 XL, the leaks have continued, and we were treated to a good look at the front of the device earlier this week. Now, an artist by the name of Jonas Daehnert has released new renders based on the most recent design leak. 

While these are renders, they about as close to the real thing as we could possibly get. The back of the smartphone is pretty much a known quantity at this point after Google confirmed the appearance of a square camera pod. Up front, Google has done away with the controversial display notch that housed the front-facing selfie cameras. Instead, the company has gone back to an unblemished display with a relatively large bezel above it.

That bezel serves as a home to standard and telephoto cameras in addition to a 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor and earpiece speaker. There's a smaller bezel at the bottom of the display. The right side of the smartphone is home to a power button and rocker switch for volume controls. At the bottom is the USB-C port which is flanked by the microphone and speakers.

In a separate photo, Daehnert shows a size comparison between the Pixel 4 XL and the iPhone XS Max. The former is shown as being narrower and just a smidge taller than the latter.

The Pixel 4 family is expected to arrive on the scene with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and at least 6GB of RAM (the Pixel 3 family comes with just 4GB of RAM). The current Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come in 64GB and 128GB versions, and we're hoping to see those capacities doubled this time around considering that NAND prices have been steadily trending downward in recent months.

If all goes according to schedule, we should see an official announcement for the Pixel 4 some time in October.
