Google To Rollout Gmail Redesign For Web Users In The Coming Weeks

According to the search giant, it will make available an Early Access Program for both G Suite and Gmail users with standard personal accounts. Google is being mum about what design changes it will make to improve the Gmail experience, but it is offering up these nuggets of information with regards to new features that will arrive with the resign.

For starters, Google says that the new Gmail will provide easier access to G Suite apps like Google Calendar directly from Gmail UI. Smart Reply, which has been a much-appreciated staple on the mobile app versions of Gmail, will also be coming to the web-based client. Google is also adding the ability to snooze emails and will be native offline support.

That last feature has been available via the Gmail Offline app, but since native offline support will be added in June, Google will at that time deprecate the app. Google does add a word of caution that some extensions may not work, but the vast majority of should function without issue. 

Google followed up on its email to G Suite users by proving the following statement:

We’re working on some major updates to Gmail (they’re still in draft phase). We need a bit more time to compose ourselves, so can’t share anything yet—archive this for now, and we’ll let you know when it’s time to hit send.

With that being said, the new Gmail experience should be rolled out within "the coming weeks".
