GoPro Airdrops Hero7 Black, White, and Silver Action Cams For Outdoorsy Crowd

Early this month we discussed leaked images claiming to show what the next generation of GoPro cameras would look like and gave up some details on the devices. Those cameras have now gone official confirming the details of the leak. GoPro has three versions of the camera that are differentiated by their color and the features supported. The cameras include the Hero7 Black, Hero7 Silver, and Hero7 White.

The Hero7 Black is a camera capable of recording 4K video at 60 fps, 2.7K video at 120 fps, and 1080p video at 240 fps. It can also shoot still images at up to 30 fps and has what GoPro calls HyperSmooth video stabilization. A vertical portrait mode supports social media, and the camera has a SuperPhoto Auto HDR photo enhancement mode. Waterproofing to 33-feet protects the camera for underwater video without needing to slip the camera into a case as you had to with older GoPro models. However, a dive casing is available for scuba divers wanting to go deeper.

Hero7 Black supports touch zoom framing on its integrated 2-inch LCD along with face, smile, and scene detection modes and can live stream video. TimeWarp video, voice control, and raw photo mode is also supported. This camera has swappable batteries to let the filming continue. Black also supports Protune allowing users to access and manually adjust settings like white balance and ISO for control over video recordings.

The next step down the rung of performance and features is the Hero7 Silver. This camera records 4K video at 30 fps, 1440p video at 60 frames per second, and 1080p video at 60 frames per seconds. It can capture 10MP images at 15 fps and has integrated video stabilization. It also supports vertical photo mode for social media and is waterproof to 33-feet with no housing needed. Its 2-inch rear LCD supports touch zoom framing, and the camera has voice control and time-lapse capture capability. An integrated photo timer allows you to take selfies from anywhere alone or with a group. The battery isn't removable on this camera.

The Hero7 White camera is the base model and only supports 1080p 60 fps video and 10MP photos at up to 15 fps. Video stabilization is integrated along with vertical photo mode for social media. It is waterproof to 33-feet with no housing needed and has touch zoom framing via the 2-inch LCD. Rounding out the features are a photo timer, voice control, and time-lapse mode. The battery isn't removable on the White version. Pricing on all three cameras is a mystery and availability is unannounced at this time.
