’Halo 3: ODST' And Relic Multiplayer Map To Join 'The Master Chief Collection' In May

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is about to get a pretty sweet content update. In a blog post today, developer 343 Industries announced that Halo 3: ODST and Halo 2's Relic map remake are both on track to be added to the collection next month, details of which will be shared at a later date. Those details will include the final map name for the Relic remake, specific release date, and more.

While you wait, you can enjoy some new features and bug fixes courtesy of a currently available content update. One of the changes the update brings is penalizing quitters and betrayal -- in ranked playlists, quitting a match is now treated the same as a loss. In addition, all quits and betrayals are automatically tracked, with action taken against offending players who commit offenses "more than what is considered normal behavior."

Quite a bit of effort was put into ranking that extends beyond punishing quitters and betrayals. At the opposite end of the spectrum, 343 Industries resolved an issue that could cause a player to rank down excessively, such as dropping multiple levels after a loss. The update also addresses an issue that caused a player's rank to appear incorrectly.

Party play should improve after applying the update as well. You'll find more consistent voice chat in team-based matchmaking games, improved party functionality in regards to game invites and joinable states, and a few bug fixes, including one that prevented a player from hearing another player via voice chat after completing a game.

Finally, 343 Industries made available a bunch of wallpapers to hold you over, available in 1920x1080, 1280x720, and 1024x768. Just head here and click on whichever one(s) grabs your eye.
