Halo 5 To Claim 60GB Of Your Xbox One’s Hard Drive
If you're running out of storage space on your Xbox One and plan on picking up Halo 5: Guardians when it comes out, then you have just over two weeks to clear out some space. How much? Well, you'll need up to 60GB of storage space to play the forthcoming Halo titles, according to the game's packaging.
Halo 5 just went recently went gold and apparently copies of the titles are making their way into the wild. One of them got into the hands of a NeoGAF forum member who snapped some photos of the game's packaging. It lists up to 60GB on the back, which is about about 14GB more space than Microsoft claims on its online store -- perhaps the figure quoted on the packaging includes future patches or DLC. Either way, you'll need a chunk of storage to play Halo 5.
At 60GB, Halo 5 would consume 12 percent of the storage space on 500GB Xbox One consoles. That percentage jumps if you factor in free space. Of course, you can always add more storage to the Xbox One by plugging in an external USB drive.
If you don't yet own an Xbox One but plan to purchase one, you might want to consider one of the newer 1TB models -- you can snag a 1TB Xbox One with Halo: The Master Chief Collection for $399. There's also a special edition Xbox One bundle that includes Halo 5 and a assortment of goodies for $500.
