Hands-on With Roccat’s New Mechanical Keyboard And Power Grid

We had a chance to swing by Roccat’s suite today to see their latest and greatest products including the company’s first mechanical keyboard, a Beta version of Power Grid, and a couple of mouse pads. First, we got to see the Ryos mechanical keyboard series.

The Ryos MK keyboard features Cherry switches, 2MB of memory, and a 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 Processor. The Ryos MK is expected to be available in April for $99.99. The Ryos MK Pro also features Cherry switches and 2MB of memory, but this keyboard comes with two 32-bit Cortex processors. The MK Pro version will come with different color options—black, brown, red, and blue. It will also be available in April with a price of $149.99.

Next, Roccat showed us their new Hiro mouse pad which is made of a mixture of silicon and cloth. This mouse pad will be available in February for about $50. It features a 3D vulcanized silicon surface along with no-fray edges and a protective coating.

Last, but definitely not least, we got a chance to see Roccat’s Power-Grid in action. This app turns your smartphone into a customizable remote control for your PC. The app comes with preconfigured grids for several games, but you’re also welcome to create your own custom grids. Power-Grid can control your PC and vice-versa. You can also use the app and your smartphone to see additional information such as maps or high scores while gaming. Roccat will offer the Power-Grid app for iOS and Android. The demo they showed us today was running on an iPhone.
