Harmonix Disables User Passwords in Wake of Hacker Attack

You may have noticed that RockBand.com, DanceCentral.com, and Creators.RockBand.com are all down. That's because Harmonix pulled the plug on each of the three websites in order to investigate what it believes is a hacker attack. As a precaution, Harmonix passwords have been disabled, and users who have accounts on any of the affected sites will have to reset their password when everything is back up and running again.

"The security of your Harmonix user information is very important to us. We’ve taken the sites down while we investigate this incident and determine how our systems and the information we maintain may have been compromised," Harmonix stated in an email. "At this time, we have not found that any of our users’ information has been published or misused. None of our sites maintain any credit card information, social security numbers, or financial account numbers for any of our users."

Dance Central

It's been a couple of days since the initial attacks were discovered and the sites are still down as of this writing. On its RockBand.com website, Harmonix notes that the outage is completely unrelated to the end of weekly Rock Band DLC.
