Here's A First Look At Ubisoft's Huge Ghost Recon Wildlands Open World Map

If you're a fan of game worlds that almost feel overwhelmingly expansive, then it looks like Ghost Recon Wildlands is a game that should be on your radar. Ubisoft doesn't just claim that Wildland's world is large; it boasts it as being the largest game world its ever created, period.

Throughout their Wildlands adventure, players will battle 26 different bosses, which gives us the impression that the game is not going to be a breeze to finish. Perhaps even more impressive, the map includes 21 regions, each of which feature their own civilian population. Beyond that, there are 11 different ecosystems to add even more complexity.

Wildlands sounds like a game that you're going to be able to sink many hours into, a la Skyrim or Fallout, and it's going to be immersive. Each region is going to feel different, and that will help the virtual world simply feel more alive. You'll be able to spot little nuances with each region's people, too. In talking to Polygon, the game's technical art director Benoit Martinez says about the NPCs, "They go to bed at night. They get up. They go to work. Whether or not you interact with them or not, they live their own life."

In another map, we're shown what kinds of terrain you'll be expected to face throughout your Wildlands adventure. Those include swampy areas, forest, highlands, and lake and waterfall.
