High Def Google Nexus 7 with 1920x1200 Display and 5MP Camera Rumors Fly

Word on the web is that Asus is building another 7-inch Nexus tablet for Google. That's pretty exciting, considering the original Nexus 7 is viewed by many to be the best Android tablet in its size class that's currently available, yet Asus left a little bit of room for improvement for a follow-up act. Will the next Nexus device sport a rear-facing camera, for example? Or a faster processor?

Yes on both accounts, according to KGI Securities analyst Mingchi Kuo. We're not sure where he's getting his information from, but based on a report he put out today, the next Nexus 7 will rock a Qualcomm AP1 8064 processor and 5-megapixel rear facing camera.

It will also have a more narrow bezel, thinner chassis, a Full HD 1080p (1920x1200) display, and the ability to charge wirelessly. He reckons the updated tablet will measure between 7.5-8.5mm thin, which is comparable to Apple's iPad mini (7.2mm).

With regards to price, the new Nexus 7 is expected to maintain the same $199 starting price as the current generation slate. That also means you should see some nice price drops for the original Nexus 7 on the second-hand market in the coming months.
