Hisense's 100-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV Would Make Dr. Evil Proud

It's not a shark with frickin' laser beams on its head, but Dr. Evil would most certainly put the slick new Hisense 100-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV on the wall inside his evil lair. This isn't really a TV in the traditional sense, it's more like a projector and screen with a full speaker system right in the box.

The system is also not cheap (as if the word "laser" in it's name didn't tip you off) with a price tag of $9,999. The projector portion of the system is a short-throw unit with a 3,000 lumen laser light source that is able to throw over eight million pixels onto the included 100-inch anti-reflective screen. The projector uses a Texas Instruments DLP 4K UHD DMD chip inside and promises to render images faster than a LED TV using Smooth Motion Plus tech. The laser light source is good for 20,000 hours over its lifetime.

Hisense ships the massive screen and projector with a 110W Harman Kardon audio system that features four speakers with two on each side and a 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer. The TV has smart features with integrated apps for Netflix, Amazon Video, and YouTube.

As costly as this system is, you might expect a plethora of inputs, but you only get a pair of HDMI inputs. That lack of inputs and the price are the two major downsides to this system.
