HP Debuts Sleek Elite Dragonfly Mobile Workstation, Bodacious 34 & 43-Inch Curved Displays
The EliteBook Dragonfly has a 13.3-inch display that comes with either a Full HD or 4K UHD resolution. There are actually two Full HD panels available, with the first one offering a 400-nit brightness rating, while the second bumps that up to an even 1000 nits. If you opt for the 4K UHD panel, it tops out at 550 nits. Given the compact dimensions and lightweight design, you won’t find discrete graphics here; instead we’re looking at Intel UHD Graphics 620 running the show.
When it comes to performance, HP isn’t using 10th generation Intel Ice Lake (10nm) or Comet Lake (14nm++) processors. Instead, the company is using Intel’s family of 8th generation Whiskey Lake processors, which start with the Core i3-8145U at the entry-level position. If you go full-tilt with EliteBook Dragonfly, you can equip the machine with a Core i7-8565U (4 cores/8 threads) with a base clock of 1.8GHz and a boost clock of 4.6GHz.
Up to 16GB LPDDR3-2133 memory can be installed, while storage options cover a wide spectrum with SATA, PCIe, and PCIe + Intel Optane Memory H10 configurations. At the base level, you can choose a 128GB SATA, or you can get up to a 2TB PCIe SSD at the high-end. If you prefer, you can even opt for up to a 512GB PCIe SSD paired with 32GB Optane Memory H10.
On the [physical] connectivity front, you’ll find a single USB 3.1 Type-C port that supports charging and an HDMI port. Your wireless options included the newly launched Wi-Fi 6 along with up to a Category 16 LTE-Advanced cellular modem.

While all of the above specs – especially its weight – are more than respectable for its class, perhaps the most impressive performance is with regards to its battery life. With the integrated long-life 56.2 WHr battery, the EliteBook Dragonfly can last up to 24.5 hours per charge.
HP says that the EliteBook Dragonfly will ship starting on October 25th with a starting price of $1,549.
Complementing the EliteBook Dragonfly are two new curved monitors from HP: the E344c and the S430c. The E344c features a 34-inch curved panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a WQHD resolution (3440x1440). You can connect to the monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort, and a four-port USB port is integrated.
If you prefer a bit more screen real estate, there’s the S430c, which has a 43.4-inch ultrawide panel with a 32:10 aspect ratio and 4K UHD resolution (3840x1200). Like its smaller sibling, there are hookups for DisplayPort and HDMI, along with a four-port USB hub. There are also two USB-C ports for video/data which can drive up to 100W of power to charge your smartphone or laptop.
HP says that the E344c will arrive on October 7th priced at $599, while the S430c makes its debut on November 4th with a $999 price tag.
