HP's Refreshed, Colorful Chromebook 14 Offers Full HD Screen, 9+ Hours Battery Life
So it should come as no surprise that one of the world’s top PC OEMs is stepping up its efforts in the Chromebook market with two new offerings, both of which feature 14-inch displays. The new Chromebook 14 sports a budget Celeron N2840 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 14-inch (1366x768) HD display (an optional Full HD display is also available), 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a single USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. The 3.74-pound Chromebook 14 also includes an HDMI port, microSD reader, and a 37WHr battery that is good for up to 9 hours and 15 minutes of runtime.
HP is also throwing in twelve free Gogo in-flight internet passes (customers must activate the offer before 12/31/2015 and use the passed before 12/31/2016) with the Chromebook 14, along with 90 free days of Google Play Music and three free movie rentals from Google Play.
The second new Chromebook offering comes in the form of the Chromebook 14 G4. This model is specifically tailored to the SMB and educational sectors. It features multi-layered security, easy console-based management and beefed up virtualization and VPN capabilities. The Chromebook 14 G4 is also has built-in support within Chrome for Citrix Receiver 1.8.
The HD version of the Chromebook 14 is priced at $249.99, while the Full HD model checks in at $279.99 – both versions will be available in Turbo Silver and Sky Blue on November 8th. The Chromebook 14 G4 is priced from $279 and will be available later this month.
