HP Unleashes Gorgeous Cinema 4K Professional Display And New Mobile Workstations
Catering to the creative professional, HP today unveiled both a gorgeous new Cinema 4K display, as well as a slew of mobile workstations - all of which are certifiably HOT.
At the forefront, HP's DreamColor Z31x Studio Display is a 31.1" display equipped with a proper Cinema 4K resolution (4096x2160) and a ton of treats for those who use their displays for work. The display sports a 10-bit panel, with a luminance rating of 250 cd/m2 - typical of displays used for photography and video content.
One of the best features of the DreamColor Z31x is that it has a built-in calibrator, allowing you to get the right color for your work without the need of an external peripheral. Color is really the name of this display's game, with HP touting 100% sRGB and 100% AdobeRGB color coverage, as well as BT.709. Further, the display also offers 99% coverage of DCI-P3, and 80% of BT.2020.
Other important specs include a response time of 10ms on/off, a 178° viewing angle, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, integrated KVM switch, dual DisplayPort 1.2 and dual HDMI 2.0 ports, as well as plenty of USB 3.0 ports, with one being the new-fangled Type-C. If this display sounds right up your alley, be prepared to shell out about ~$4,000 USD once it hits retail.
Complementing the launch of its new high-end display, HP is also releasing a handful of new mobile workstations, which, given their target market, include either AMD Radeon Pro or NVIDIA Quadro GPUs. With some notebooks, you can go as low as the Quadro M1200 or Radeon Pro WX 4170, or go as high as the Quadro P5000 (with nearly ~9 TFLOPS of performance).
The same variances can be seen with other hardware across the line, with regards to the CPU, and even display resolution. It might be funny to picture a high-end notebook with a 1600x900 display, but it's an option on the ZBook 17 G4, but so too are 1080p and 3840x2160 (the latter of which falls inside the DreamColor series just like the 4K display above).
