HP Unveils Four Energy Star 5.0 Compliant Monitors

Hewlett Packard is giving it up for Mother Nature by releasing four new displays that promise not to put the hurt the environment, in case you care about that sort of thing. Each of the four monitors use only two-lamp panels instead of four to reduce both power consumption and toxic chemicals, and as a result are Energy Star 5.0 compliant and TCO 5.0 certified.

Working our way from top to bottom we start with the 2710m, a 27-inch display with a 1920x1080 native resolution and rated at 400 nits of brightness. Other specs include a 2.5ms response time (GTG), 92-percent color gamut coverage, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and VGA, DVI-D, HDMI, and audio inputs.

The 23-inch 2310m sports mostly the same specs, save for 300 nits of brightness and a 3ms response time, while the 21.5-inch 2210m drops the response time down slightly to 2.5ms. On the bottom rung sits the 20-inch 2010i with a 1600x900 native resolution, same contrast ratio, 250 nits of brightness, and 5ms response time. This one doesn't come with HDMI.

Pricing has been set to $180 (2010i), $220 (2210m), $260 (2310m), and $460 (2710m).
