HP Unveils New Windows 8 Consumer and Business PCs

Hot on the heels of the introduction of a new quartet of all-in-ones, HP announced several new consumer and business PCs designed for Windows 8.

For consumers. there’s the HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 and 15 notebooks, which feature 14- and 15.6-inch HD screens (respectively) and boast storage capacity of up to 1TB, HP TrueVision HS webcams, and “a full array of ports”, according to a press release.

HP’s 14-inch ENVY m4 notebook is designed for optimal portability with a thin and light form factor and includes Intel Ivy Bridge processors and features that include HP ProtectSmart, HP CoolSense and HP SimplePass.

New consumer-focused desktops include the HP ENVY Phoenix h9, designed for gaming or digital content creation with Ivy Bridge chips, NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards with ExpressCache, SSDs, liquid cooling, and a catchy armor-plating chassis and lighting design. You can pair the ENVY Phoenix h9 with the slim (11mm) 24-inch HP x2401 monitor, which sports a glossy black finish and LED backlighting; the business version of the monitor is the L2401, which has the
same 24-inch display size and LED backlighting design.

Business users on a budget also get the AMD-based HP Compaq Pro 6305 desktop with APU processors (A10, A8, A6, or A4) and AMD Turbo Core 3.0 and AMD Accelerated File Converter technology. New business notebooks include the HP ProBook 4445s, 4446s, and 4545s; also AMD-based, these notebook feature A-series chips and VISION Pro technology.

HP is throwing in a few value-added perks, too; HP Pavilion dm1 notebooks get 200MB of free 4G data per month for two years on T-Mobile’s network as well as 25GB of free cloud storage provided by Box.
