HTC One S Devices Finally Receive Jelly Bean Update

Good news, HTC One S owners, your Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is waiting in the wings. Well, sort of. HTC has reportedly begun rolling out the Jelly Bean software to WWE (WorldWide English) handsets, which are those that are mostly sold in European markets.

If you're feeling impatient for the over-the-air (OTA) update to arrive, you can head over to the XDA Developers forum where you'll find a bunch of CID (Customer ID) numbers eligible for the download. If yours is listed, you can download Jelly Bean direct from HTC, though be warned that it's a massive file (612MB).

The One S handsets have been on the market for about six months now and are long overdue for Jelly Bean. Rubbing salt in the wound, HTC One X owners started receiving their upgrade to Android 4.1 last month. Unfortunately, there's no word on when HTC will ship Jelly Bean to One S owners living in the U.S., though we imagine we won't be long.
