HTC One X9 Battles Cut-Rate Android Smartphone Competition From Huawei And Xiaomi
HTC is now looking to fight Xiaomi and Huawei on their home turf with a fresh smartphone entry: the One X9. While the One X9 isn’t likely to get the blood pumping of an American audience, HTC is hoping that the device, which will retail for 2,399 yuan off-contract (roughly $370), will make a bigger splash in China.
First and foremost, you’ll find a 5.5-inch 1080p display (401ppi) along with an octa-core MediaTek X10 SoC processor paired with 3GB of RAM. When it comes to storage, you’ll find 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot which allows expansion up to 2TB. Given its target audience, you’ll find dual nanoSIM slots and support for all major wireless bands blanketing China.
Other features include a generous 3000mAh battery, 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, UltraPixel front camera, Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11ac. We don’t know what version of Android is shipping with the One X9, although we do know that HTC Sense is layered on top. Given that HTC’s most recent releases have come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, it’s likely that the One X9 will also continue that trend.
Unfortunately, HTC hasn’t announced information on availability for the One X9, so potential Chinese customers will have to wait it out, or take a gander at what the competition is offering at this price point.
