HTC U12+ Android Flagship Leaks With 18:9 Display And Dual Cameras

Someone has gotten their grubby mitts on a coming HTC smartphone and took plenty of pics of the shiny device to show off. That smartphone is said to be the HTC U12+ and the images turned up on the HTC Taiwan News Update Facebook page, which for those wondering isn't HTC's officially. The images show the new flagship Android device from all sides and it looks pretty good.

Anyone worried about smears and fingerprints might have reservations about the super shiny surface of the device, but at least you can use it as a mirror to get ready for your selfie. The images show a device that looks to have a large screen thought to be an 18:9 aspect ratio format. The back of the smartphone has a dual camera setup with dual-LED flash and fingerprint reader.

Notch haters will be glad to see that this device has no notch, and on the bottom we see a USB-C charge port and speaker. Buttons for volume and power are on the right side of the device with the SIM card tray on the left. If you have a favored set of headphones, note that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. Of course we can’t rule out an adapter of some sort for the USB-C port.

A previous leak did tip features that we can expect to see inside the device. That leak claims a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 5.99-inch QHD+ screen, up to 6GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. That dual camera setup is tipped as a 12MP and 16MP system with Sony IMX3xx sensors and an 8MP front camera. Power is said to be supplied by a 3420 mAh internal battery and the device carries IP68 ratings liquid and dust resistance, along with Face Unlock, Edge Sense 2.0, Android 8.0 with Sense 10 skinned over its Oreo OS. Both single and dual SIM versions are expected.
