HTC will launch its U12+ flagship smartphone next week, but new renders leaked today which show the device from the back and the front in three different colors. Today's leak also confirms many of the specifications that we've seen for the device over the past few months.

For starters, the U12+ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is pretty much a given for a 2018 flagship Android phone. That processor is backed by 6GB of RAM, and customers will have a choice of either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. If the onboard storage isn't enough for your needs, you'll be happy to find a microSD slot for expansion. Your window into the digital world comes courtesy of a 6-inch QHD+ (2560x1440) LCD that supports HDR 10 and is covered in Gorilla Glass.

There are two cameras on the back: a 12MP wide-angle camera with UltraPixel 4 technology and a 16MP telephoto camera with UltraSpeed Focus 2. Optical zoom of 1.8x to 2x is supported, and the cameras are backed by dual LED flash. There are actually two front-facing 8MP selfie cameras with an 84-degree field of view. The cameras support Selfie Panorama mode and face unlock.

Other features include HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi, along with support for both the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The phone itself adheres to HTC's "Liquid Surface" design philosophy, and features pressure sensitive buttons along with HTC Edge Sense. And of course, the smartphone is both water and dust resistant.

On the power front, the U12+ includes a 3,500 mAh battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. HTC says that this fast charging tech will take the battery from zero to a 50 percent charge in just 35 minutes.

The HTC U12+ will come out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo, but will be upgradeable to Android P when it launches this summer. For details on pricing and availability, we'll have to wait for the official announcement on May 23rd.
