HTC’s One A9 Aero Is Colorful Android Mid-Ranger With Snapdragon 617 Power
Famed leaker Evan Blass (known on Twitter as @evleaks) posted what look to be official press photos of HTC's unreleased One A9 handset (codenamed Aero). Due to launch sometime this fall, the One A9 is a premium looking device that will inevitably draw comparisons to the design of Apple's latest iPhone 6 models (probably not by accident).
It starts with the overall shape of the One A9, which more closely resembles an iPhone 6/6s than a One M9, the latter of which looks a bit wider. There are rounded corners and, on the backside, a pair of horizontal stripes near the top and bottom. The One M9 also has horizontal striping on its rear casing, though the top one sits above the camera sensor with a small vertical line in the middle.
There are half a dozen color options as outlined above, including Acid Gold, Opal Silver, Deep Garnet, Carbon Gray (don't call it Space Gray!), Rose Gold, and Cast Iron. While nothing is confirmed, we wouldn't be surprised if even more color options appeared -- HTC isn't shy about offering additional colors exclusive to certain vendors, like Best Buy.
One you get into the hardware and features, the comparisons to Apple's iPhone 6 family come to a screeching halt. The One A9 is a mid-range device, not a flagship, with a 5-inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 4 Ultra Pixel front-facing camera, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, microSD card slot, fingerprint reader, and a 2,150mAh battery.
According to Blass, Sprint and other carriers will have the HTC One A9 in November. No word yet on price.
