Lamborghini Revs Up Driver-Focused Thrills With Gorgeous 610 HP Huracán Evo RWD

Lamborghini has always been an automaker that makes multiple versions of a car to give the well-heeled enthusiast the ability to find a car that perfectly suits their style and needs. There are several versions of the Huracán out there already, and Lamborghini has announced a purist version of the car that ditches the all-wheel-drive system and goes rear-wheel drive only. The car is called the Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive.

The V10 engine sits behind the driver in the middle of the chassis, as it does in all Huracán models. In Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive trim, the V10 makes 610hp and 560 Nm of torque. Lamborghini fits the car with a specially calibrated Performance Traction Control System, which is meant to deliver torque even when the car is realigning after a drift or side-slipping.

Lambo says that a regular traction control system delivers a sharp decoupling, waiting for the car to become completely stable before delivering torque again. The goal is to deliver better traction when exiting a corner. In addition, the car has multiple driving modes, including Strada, Sport, and Corsa.

The Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive uses a hybrid chassis that integrates lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber with an aluminum and thermoplastic resin body. The dry weight of the car is around 3,060 pounds giving it a weight-to-power ratio of 5 lbs/hp, with weight distribution of 40/60 (front/rear). Lamborghini even gave the car a specially calibrated dynamic steering system just for the RWD version of the car.

The V10 puts power through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox for the fastest gear changes, and the car of course has launch control. Lamborghini claims 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h, a bit over 201 mph. The car will launch this spring, around the world, with pricing in the U.S. of $208,571.

In other Lamborghini news, the automaker recently loaned a father and son who are 3D printing a replica of the Aventador a a real-life version to help with the project.
