Intel 9th Gen Core 9000 Series Coffee Lake S Processor Specs Confirmed

Intel Sign
Yesterday, we received official confirmation from Intel that its incoming 9th generation Core family is still based on Coffee Lake architecture, which underpins current 8th generation processors. A total of 7 processors were revealed, ranging from the Core i3-9100 to the Core i5-9600K.

Now, another official Intel document has been posted (which has since been removed) that shows the official specs of the processors revealed yesterday. There aren't many surprises considering that these are all Coffee Lake parts, but we do see that core clocks increase about 100MHz across the board for the 9th gen parts versus their 8th gen counterparts, while boost clocks are seeing an increase of around 200MHz for the Core i5 parts.

It should be noted that TDP values remain the same, which means 65 watts for the Core i3 and low-end Core i5 parts and 95W for the Core i5-9600K. The Core i3 processors retain a 4 core/4 thread configuration while the Core i5 parts have 6 cores and 6 threads.

Unfortunately, we still don't have any specs or confirmation of the 9th generation Core i7 and Core i9 parts, although it's widely expected that a Core i7-9700K (6 cores/12 threads) and a Core i9-9900K (8 cores/16 threads) will be announced.

Intel's 9th generation Core processors are expected to be announced alongside the Z390 motherboard chipset. Unless Intel decides to go the cheap route with a rebranded Z370 chipset for the Z390, we’re expecting native 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB 3.1 Gen2 support for this new platform.
