Molto Bene! Italian Police Saddle-Up In Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Sports Cars

If you recall from our original piece on the Giulia QV last June, the vehicle in standard trim is billed as a BMW M3 slayer with a rip-roarious 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 510 horsepower. That’s enough grunt to hustle the Giulia QV to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and top out at 190 mph. The Italian hottie also manages to bring 50/50 front/rear weight distribution to the table to enhance its handling prowess (should you ever feel the need to take it around the Nürburgring).

At least for Carabinieri duty, motorists won’t have to worry about seeing that triangular grille and flashing blue lights in their rearview mirrors to crack down on traffic offenses. Instead, this Giulia QV will be used as a diplomatic escort and for transporting organs to patients in need of a transplant (hey, you can’t argue with a vehicle that tops out at 190mph when lives are stake).

Gussied up for police duty, the Giulia QV of course has an LED light bar mounted to its roof, a siren system, a radio for communicating with HQ, a defibrillator and a tablet mounted on the dash in front of the passenger for some high-speed Angry Birds action (ok, maybe we made that last part up). Surprisingly enough, the six-speed manual transmission actually made the cut and is included instead of the optional dual-clutch unit.

The Giulia QV also somehow manages to have room to fit high-powered military weapons, which we’re assuming will be stored in the trunk. However, that means that even if the Giulia QV is somehow courted to assist in criminal-related activities, there will likely be little room to throw perps in the trunk Goodfellas style.
