We didn’t see this one coming. A new Japanese trailer for what is likely to be this year’s biggest movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was posted this morning by Disney Japan. And rather than just rehash a bunch of scenes that we’ve seen in previous trailers, there’s a whole lot of fresh action going on here.

Coming less than a month after the last Star Wars trailer dropped, the new trailer full of action and even allows us to hear the cute little BB-8 droid “speak” for the first time. We also see Finn and Rey meet for the first time and even get an ever so brief glimpse of fan favorite C-3PO.

Rey also comes very close to losing her head courtesy of the business end of Kylo Ren’s trick lightsaber. Speaking of Kylo Ren, his ties to the Skywalker family are undeniable, as his muffled voice proclaims, “I will fulfill our destiny, I will finish what you started” while looking at Darth Vadar’s burned out mask.

The trailer also gives us a few fleeting glimpses of Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewbacca, but Luke Skywalker is still missing in action in this particular trailer — I guess we’ll have to wait for movie’s December release to see what he brings to the story. Scattered throughout the trailer you’ll see aerial and land battles, plenty of laser blasts, and one pretty wicked explosion perpetrated by the always awesome Chewie.

The trailer concludes with the following emotional line, “Hope is not lost today. It is found."

December 18th can’t get here soon enough! But if you simply can’t wait until December to get your Star Wars fix, there’s always Star Wars Battlefront, which will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17th.
