JVC Enters Pocket Cam Market With PICSIO

JVC introduced its first pocket flash memory camera, the PICSIO GC-FM1. This portable camera can capture 8 megapixel still images and 1080p Full HD video. To help minimize camera shake, the PICSIO offers image stabilization. The camera itself is about the size of a small cell phone. It comes in three colors: Black Ice, Blue Steel, and Purple Passion.

Videos are recorded in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format and stored as .MOV files for easy sharing. PICSIO provides four video and still recording modes:

For ease of use, PICSIO offers dedicated buttons for power, playback, delete, video/still mode switching, and thumbnail display mode. A four-way controller positioned in the middle controls zoom, still image viewing, and record start/stop.
