Kingston Now Shipping SSDNow V300 Series Solid State Drives

Getting ready to upgrade your storage to a solid state drive? If so, Kingston hopes to appeal to your cost-conscious side with its new SSDNow V300 line. Continuing the SSDNow V Series tradition, these are being pitched as cost-effective upgrade solutions. Don't take that to mean they're slow.

Armed with a SandForce controller and a SATA 6Gbps interface, the SSDNow V300 Series delivers read and write speeds of up to 450MB/s. They may not be the fastest SSDs on the block, but that's pretty peppy for a value oriented drive.

"Kingston is committed to delivering SSDs at the best price to performance ratio as possible. We achieve this again with our next-generation SSDNow V300," said Ariel Perez, SSD business manager, Kingston. "The SSDNow V300 is the best cost-efficient upgrade for users who want their existing systems to perform faster. They will experience faster boot up and shutdown times, and will also see much better system performance when multiple applications are open."

The SSDNow V300 is shipping now in three capacities: 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB. They're available as standalone drives or, as pictured above, as part of an upgrade kit containing cloning software and various accessories. Speaking to the value proposition, Kingston didn't reveal MSRPs for any of the drives, and as of this writing, leading online retailers aren't showing any stock just yet.
