Kitty Litter and Computers

Do you own a cat/s and have computers?  If you do, then you may want to take a look at this interesting article which talks about the dangers of litter dust near computers.

Dust, especially clay dust, is a very real threat to electronics. Clay is naturally capacitive and conductive. In addition to its ability to short or damage electronics, it acts as an "insulation" of sorts and it will hamper the normal cooling of a computer. This extends to any electronic device: monitors, speakers, stereos, televisions - anything that's exposed to the air is exposed to dust.

Having owned a cat for many years, I for one can vouch for the fact that litter dust migrates out and clogs with its fine dust particles.  It has definitely clogged the internals of my computer/s in the past.
