Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Hypercar Curb Stomps Porsche 911 GT2 RS Around Nürburgring

Anyone with a little brother knows that while you might mercilessly pick on your bro, anyone else who tries it gets a mouthful of fist. Apparently the same goes for Lamborghini. The Aventador SVJ was just sitting back and biding its time to go out and thrash the Porsche 911 GT2 RS after said vehicle put a beatdown on little brother Lambo Huracan Performante at the Nürburgring.

Lambo hasn’t always had a reputation for handling and has typically been known more for straight-line speed and outright style. It's changing that reputation with the Huracan Performante first and now the Aventador SVJ. The impressive part about Lamborghini's Aventador SVJ is that it beat the 911 GT2 RS by 2.33 seconds, which is a significant amount of time on the race track. That brings the Nürburgring production car record back to the Lambo camp with a run around the 'Ring of 6 minutes and 44.97 seconds.

That lap time makes the Lambo faster than the Nio EP9 as well; that EV put in a run of 6 minutes and 45.9 seconds. The Lambo wasn't quite as fast as the McLaren P1 LM which ran the ring in 6 minutes 43.2 seconds. Both the McLaren and the Nio are very limited run cars not quite meeting the notion of a production car.

The best news about this new record-setting run is that there is a video of the Lambo wheeling around the track and it has been put alongside the run from the Porsche for direct comparison. The Aventador SVJ is faster than the Porsche in the corners, but not the straights. Lambo catches the Porsche's early lead in the technical sections, which is an impressive feat. The source has another video side-by-side run that you might want to check out that isn’t embeddable. Both it and the video here are worth a watch.
