Lenovo Announces Yoga 730 Convertibles With 8th Gen Core i7 And Amazon Alexa Integration
As you might expect from a mobile PC launching in 2018, the Yoga 730 is powered by 8th generation Intel Core processors (up to Core i7). At the entry-level position, there is the 13-inch model, which supports up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and up to a 512GB PCIe SSD. There is also an Intel Integrated H620 GPU that powers either a Full HD or an optional UHD (4K) display.
The 2.46-pound laptop includes two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a single USB 3.0 port, and includes JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Interestingly, the model with the Full HD display is rated at 11 hours, while the higher resolution 4K display option is actually rated higher at 11.5 hours.
The 15-inch model also supports up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, but doubles the size of the SSD to a max of 1TB. Full HD and UHD resolution display options are available, but the graphics subsystem receives a massive upgrade with an optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU.
The convertible weighs 4.16 pounds and can last up to 11 hours with the Full HD display, or 9 hours with the UHD display option.
We should also note that in addition to requisite Microsoft Cortana support, which comes with Windows 10, the Yoga 730 family's included far-field microphones also support the always-listening Amazon Alexa voice assistant.
Sitting slightly lower on the totem pole is the Flex 14, which features 8th generation Core i7 processors, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, and up to a 512GB SSD. As its name implies, the display measures 14 inches with a Full HD resolution. If you require more than integrated Intel graphics, an optional GeForce MX130 discrete GPU is available as an option. Finally, the 3.25-pound convertible lasts up to 10 hours per charge.
The 13- and 15-inch Yoga 730 convertibles are priced from $880 and $900 respectively, while the Flex 14 starts at $600. All three convertibles will be available for purchase in April.
