Lenovo Updates Consumer PC Lineup: Notebooks And Desktops See Upgrades

We hope you're ready to dig through the details, because if you're in the market for a new Lenovo, the company has no fewer than ten new models to choose from starting today. Just about the entire consumer lineup is being refreshed, including a revamped version of the Z-Series, U-Series, IdeaCentre all-in-one and the H-Series of low-cost all-in-one PCs.

The Z-Series kicks things off, with these bargian-priced multi-media notebooks (Z360, Z560 and Z565) bringing a nice balance of power, size and value. The machines come with a 13.3" or 15.6" display, an optional Blu-ray drive, Intel's new Core 2010 processors, and NVIDIA's GeForce graphics. The Z565 in particular will be offered with AMD equipment (Phenom II CPUs and ATI graphics).


The IdeaPad U160, U460 and U460s all cater to the fashion crowd, just like this range has in the past. These will be ultra-portable in design, with long battery life being a critical aspect of performance. Users will also notice a "textured aluminum" top, with the 14" U460 and U460s weighing just 3.8lbs. and being available with up to a Core i7 CPU. Another new thing here is the availability of an Ultra-Low-Voltage version of the Core i7 in the U160 and U460s, with the former weighing just 2.9lbs. and being just 0.9" thick at the thickest point. Each U-Series machine ships with integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a Light Sensor, Active Protection System and data recovery tools.

Moving over to the desktop side, the A700 and B305 all-in-one systems offer fully functional machines at a low price, meant mostly for Web surfers and casual computing users who don't need loads of horsepower. The IdeaCentre A700 is a super-slim option with a 23" Full HD screen, Core i7 CPU, DirectX 11 graphics support, a 3-in-1 mouse, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and a hard drive with up to 2TB of space. The IdeaCentre B305 goes AMD with a Phenom II X4 quad-core processor, and it also features a 21.5" display. Both units feature touch panels, 5-in-1 media card slots, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and rear/side mounted USB ports.


Another IdeaCentre PC getting updated is the Q150, which maintains a small stature for living room use, but now comes with a VESA mount, optional NVIDIA Ion graphics, an onboard HDMI output, and an optional multimedia remote with an integrated trackball mouse and mini keyboard for couch-surfing.

Finally, the low-end H320 is getting an update as well, rocking a standard mini-tower form factor but offering Core 2010 Intel CPU options, up to 8GB of RAM, and a lower-than-expected price point.

All of the PCs will be available through www.lenovo.com. The IdeaPad Z360, Z560 and Z565 are available beginning in June. Manufacturer suggested retail pricing (MSRP) for the Z360, Z560 and Z565 will start at $649. The IdeaPad U160, U460 and U460s are available beginning in June and will start at  $699. The IdeaCentre A700 will be available beginning at the end of June and will start at $999. The IdeaCentre B305 will be available beginning in June and start at $699. The IdeaCentre Q150 will be available beginning at the end of June and will start at $249. The Lenovo H320 will be available beginning at the end of June and start at $549.
