LG G6 Shows Off Sexy Unibody In Partial Unveil Ahead Of MWC 2017 Debut
Mobile World Congress is still a month away but that just means a few more weeks of leaks ahead of the annual convention in Barcelona. The latest leak is a press photo what is presumed to be the LG G6, the company's upcoming flagship Android smartphone. It is not a full shot of the device, though enough is visible to make out a premium design that looks every bit as good as the competition.
The G6 is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch display sporting a not-so-common (in the smartphone space) 2:1 aspect ratio. Part of the reason for that is because LG wanted to minimize the bezels—the phone features an impressive screen-to-bezel ratio of 90 percent. The bottom of the handset is not visible in the leaked photo, though according to The Verge, which obtained the first press image of the G6, it is only slightly bigger than the top bezel. This could be a trend in 2017, as it is rumored that Samsung will also go with either a narrow bezel or bezel-free design on its Galaxy S8.
LG is going for a much more sophisticated look this time around. In our review of the G6's predecessor, the G5, we called it "ambitious but unrefined." While the G5's modular design was interesting, it was not very eye catching, nor did it prove all that popular with consumers, at least not to the extent where the G5 became a viable threat to flagship phones from Samsung and Apple.

The G6 is said to be constructed from metal and glass. A closeup of the handset highlights some of its aesthetic features, such as a beveled border that Apple made popular with its iPhone, rounded corners, and what looks to be a dual LED flash.
Keeping in mind that nothing is yet confirmed, it is rumored the G6 will pair 4GB of 6GB of RAM with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. It's also been rumored to feature a 7-megapixel front camera, 24-megapixel rear camera, 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot, and a 4,200 mAh battery.
