LG G7 ThinQ Snapdragon 845 Android Flagship Phone Leaks In New Photos

We are well into 2018 flagship smartphone season, which arguably kicked off with the unveil of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+back in late February. LG might not have the marketing muscle that fuels Samsung's smartphones, but it is coming out with its own powerhouse flagship called the G7 ThinQ.

New, real life photos of the smartphone were revealed to TechRadar, and they clearly show that the smartphone will have a notched display. This will no doubt be disappointing to some Android fans whose eyes are probably rolling out of their sockets now. More and more Android OEMs are adopting the notch that first showed up on the Essential Phone (albeit in a much smaller form) and was popularized (for better or worse) with the Apple iPhone X

This display is said to measure 6.1 inches across, although there is no word currently on its resolution. As you might expect with a 2018 flagship, the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor, although it will be paired with a merely "adequate" 4GB of RAM. The similarly-sized Galaxy S9+ bring 6GB of RAM to the table and OnePlus confirmed this week that the OnePlus 6 will have 8GB of RAM. Likewise, internal storage is pegged at 64GB for the G7 ThinQ, while the OnePlus 6 will crush all challengers with up to 256GB.

The LG G7 ThinQ will reportedly carry the LG-G710TM designation when it launches in the United States next month. However, it's highly likely that the smartphone could be announced later this month.

Whatever the case, we're excited to see new Android flagships enter the fray, and we still have plenty more on the docket including new entries from Motorola, Google (Pixel 3 family) and HTC.
