LG’s Next Generation G4 Flagship Smartphone To Debut April 28

Android fans are in a good place right now. There's the continued roll out of Android 5.0 Lollipop to an increasing number of devices, the recent release of Samsung's premium design Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, the release of HTC's One M9, and talk of LG's flagship G4 handset, the latter of which is likely to debut on April 28.

LG has been sending out press invites for Tuesday, April 28 in New York, London, and Paris, and for Wednesday, April 29 in Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul. The invite is a picture of a faux leather-bound notebook with the tagline, "See the great, feel the great." Raise your hand if you're up for a game of speculation.

The second part of the tagline -- "Feel the great" -- seems to suggest that LG is hinting at the physical construction. However, we don't know if that means the G4 (or G4 Note) will sport a faux leather backside, or if LG is hinting at a premium design. Keep in mind that Samsung switched to metal and glass with its latest Galaxy handsets, and they've been hugely popular, even in the absence of previously popular features like a removable battery and expandable storage.

According to Android Authority, the invite could also be hinting at a curved design, which has been rumored in a Korean newspaper. We're a bit skeptical of that, as it doesn't mesh with the leather themed invite.

Will there be separate G4 and G4 Note devices announced at the end of April? We don't know that either, though leaked photos of what's supposed to the G4 Note recently hit the web. The photos show a device wrapped in a brushed aluminum chassis with a stylus.

In any event, at least we don't have to wait too terribly long to find out what LG has up its sleeve.
